Honestly, when I ordered this it was as much that I'm a tool freak as having a specific use. Then a friend asked me to help her out with a water heater issue. After draining the tank and seeing the amount of precipitate coming out, I suggested to her that it would be good to change the sacrificial anode rod. She looked quzzically at me, so I explained the situation with anode rods, that they need to be changed every two or three years. She approved my suggestion, and now I needed to remove the old anode rod. That's when I remembered that I had the perfect tool for the job. I did have to buy a 1-1/6" socket locally, but, no problem. The water heater was in a neglected closet-like space that opened outward at the side of the house. When I say neglected, I mean really. So it was tricky reaching the top of the old anode rod. I moved the vent piping out of the way, but access was still very limited. Luckily the wrench head angle adjusts easily and locks into the selected position. The 90-tooth ratched was useful also, because the space for movement of the wrench was limited by the water connection pipes. With the powerful torque provided by the long handle, I was able to remove the old rod despite it being pretty resistant.All-in-all, I quickly found the tool very useful, very effective, and it is very well crafted. The finish is shiny stainless and the handle opposite the business end makes using it that much more satisfying. The wrench is pretty long and won't fit in a standard tool box but for the right automotive, or, as in this case, plumbing use well worth having on hand. You won't need it every day, but when you do it's great to have the right tool to address bolts in hard to reach places and be able to apply sufficient torque to remove all but the most stubborn bolts. The head angle adjusts easily and locks on the desired angle, releasing with the touch of a button. The 90-tooth claim is for real, very smooth and able to rotate even when back-and-forth motion is considerably restricted.
